Meet Silas.

Silas Cobb III is a Detroit-based media executive, producer, playwright, host, and performing arts veteran whose career has been built around one consistent mission: creating platforms where people, businesses, and untold stories have an opportunity to be seen.

As the founder of Total Entertainment Radio and the creator and executive producer of Making the Mogul, Silas has expanded that mission into entrepreneurship-focused television. Making the Mogul follows Detroit founders through a competitive, unscripted format designed to spotlight ambition, leadership, business development, and the people building the city's next chapter. The series streams through web and Roku platforms, with Silas serving as a central production leader and public host for Making the Mogul programming and events.

Silas's creative foundation began long before broadcasting. He entered the performing arts as a child through church music, public speaking, creative writing, and dance. By his teenage years, he had performed with Detroit's all-city dance programs and written his first stage play. He later worked professionally in choreography, taught dance, and opened DreamChild Dance Studio. His path eventually moved into radio, beginning with a hosting opportunity at WHPR FM 88.1 before transitioning into online broadcasting.

In 2019, Silas launched Mustard Seed Productions, producing original stage works including the Nobody Wants a Weak Man series. He followed that venture with the launch of Total Entertainment Radio in 2020 and Total Praise Radio in 2022. Total Entertainment Radio has grown to roughly 20,000 monthly listeners — a network Silas has described as having largely developed its operating model through experimentation, adaptation, and trial and error.

As a Making the Mogul judge, Silas brings the perspective of a builder who has repeatedly created media and production ventures from the ground up. He looks beyond a polished pitch to the person carrying the vision: their ability to connect, adapt, command an audience, learn from failure, and turn opportunity into momentum. As the show's creator, executive producer, and host, his role reaches far beyond the judges' panel — shaping the platform itself, guiding the story, and building a stage where Detroit entrepreneurs can prove they belong on it.
